Ramon L. Burgos, MD, MBA
Child and adolescent psychiatrist at the Child Mind Institute, working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families — as well as adults navigating demanding professional environments, leadership roles, and complex life transitions.
CHILD & ADOLESCENT PSYCHIATRY
Dr. Ramon Burgos is a child and adolescent psychiatrist at the Child Mind Institute in New York, where he works with children, adolescents, young adults, and families across a wide range of psychiatric and developmental concerns. His clinical work focuses particularly on thoughtful, individualized care for patients navigating complex emotional, behavioral, attentional, and neurodevelopmental challenges.
In addition to his work with children and families, Dr. Burgos also works with adults, including individuals in demanding professional and executive environments where mental health, performance, identity, and life transitions often intersect.
Before joining the Child Mind Institute, Dr. Burgos completed his psychiatry residency at Columbia University and his child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship through NewYork-Presbyterian, with training across both Columbia and Cornell. Earlier in his career, he founded and operated a private practice and also worked with an early-stage digital mental health startup, helping develop clinical protocols and care systems from the ground up.
Dr. Burgos received both his MD and MBA from the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to medical school, he worked as a credit analyst on Wall Street, an experience that continues to shape his interest in the intersection of mental health, systems, leadership, and organizational performance. He has also published research related to the physician workforce and remains deeply interested in the future of medical practice and clinician development.
Beyond direct clinical care, Dr. Burgos maintains active interests in mentorship for early-career clinicians, the business and operational challenges within mental healthcare, and educational work related to adolescent substance use, neurodiversity, and modern psychiatric practice. He is particularly interested in how emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, can be thoughtfully integrated into clinical workflows while preserving high-quality, human-centered care.
